The current average gas prices and those of the past day, week, month and year for different grades of gasoline, as well as today’s state averages can be found on this AAA site. It’s updated daily using survey data from over 100,000 self-serve gas stations.
Gasbuddy – no not your foul smelling friend – and FuelMeUp are two sites to quickly check local prices. Though in all honesty I never use it because I don’t really care what the price is unless it changes a whole lot.
A typical fill up for me is about 10 gallons. So if I can save a dime per gallon it’s still only $1 over the course of 2 to 3 weeks (I don’t drive much). If you have a guzzler or drive more then it might be worth a look. But whatever you do don’t drive around looking for cheap gas!
